| Background and Policy Positions. | Senator Fisher, currently Majority Whip of the Pennsylvania Senate, served from 1974 to 1980 in the Assembly. His career in public service began in the Allegheny County's District Attorney's office. He is Vice-Chairman of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. In the legislature, Mr. Fisher has fought for tougher laws on juvenile crime, the death penalty, and mandatory sentences for crimes committed with a gun.
