Background and Policy Positions.

Mr. Clymer considers himself a full-time legislator, now serving his eighth term as state representative of the 145th legislative district. He is the Majority Chairperson of the House State Government Committee and also serves on the Capitol Preservation and Health and Human Services Committees. Prior to his government service, he was the credit manager of Lankenau Hospital for 13 years and was a Committeeman and Judge of Elections in the 21st Ward in Philadelphia.

If he gains a ninth term, Mr. Clymer will focus on revitalizing the business community, reducing violent crime, restructuring the welfare system, and making education more purposeful for the state's children. He will continue his earlier efforts to improve local relationships with PennDOT, to preserve prime farmland, and to help volunteer fire companies and ambulance squads.

Mr. Clymer is well known for his opposition to casino gambling in Pennsylvania.
